Holistic Animal Practices

TOHAP (The Olive Holistic Animal Practices) began as a passion project for Sherize Pieterse, when she realised that her deepest drive lay in helping horses whose discomfort or behaviour couldn’t be fully understood or treated with traditional methods.

About

About TOHAP founder, Sherize

Sherize sitting on a bench in a picturesque field with her horse next to her

Sherize grew up in the saddle. From an early age, her mother would lift her onto horses and ponies at every opportunity — including her beloved horse, Camaro.

A pivotal step in this journey came in 2017 with the completion of a foundational saddle fitting course, marking the start of a more specialised professional path. Since then, her studies have expanded to include equine anatomy and physiology, sports massage, kinesiology taping, lameness evaluation, and rehabilitation. Ongoing education remains a priority, fuelled by both natural curiosity and a firm belief that learning never truly stops.
